The Transportation Agency for Monterey County (TAMC) works to develop safe, accessible transportation networks across Monterey County, California. As part of their regional safety initiative, TAMC partnered with Ecology Action to create comprehensive Safe Routes to School Plans across multiple school districts. These extensive, public-facing planning documents require both engaging visual communication and strict digital accessibility to ensure all community members and public officials can access crucial safety data.

The Impact

Working as Ecology Action’s lead design specialist for the TAMC partnership, I designed and formatted hundreds of pages of detailed municipal planning documents, ensuring complete Section 508 accessibility remediation for public distribution. Beyond document design, I expanded TAMC’s visual brand identity by creating a custom iconography system to communicate key safety and transportation concepts. I also produced digital and print community outreach collateral and provided web maintenance and design support for the Safe Routes to School Monterey campaign platform.
